FROM LAGUNITAS SCHOOL DISTRICT: PG&E has informed the Marin Office of Emergency Services that there are no additional planned power shutdowns within the next 24 hours. We anticipate that Lagunitas Schools will remain open and will provided updates as needed.

Power is on and school will be open today.

The Lagunitas School District is monitoring updates from the Marin County Office of Emergency Services through the evening. As of 9:00 PM, we plan to keep school open on Wednesday, October 9th. We will keep you informed if conditions change. If a power outage occurs before school starts in the morning, the school will be closed. T

Valley After School Tutoring Hi Lagunitas families, VAST is so excited to start a new school year. We will start tutoring and homework club on September 3rd. If you are interested in signing your student up for VAST and don’t have a form, there are extras in the business office of the Community Center and the Lagunitas School District office on the lower campus. Fire has stopped advancing and is 60% contained. 10-12 acres. No traffic problems in the area. School related activities and meetings are not affected.

There is a wild fire active on the north side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near Spirit Rock. School is safe. Recommend staying away from the area until further notice.

From the Lagunitas School District: The Valley Jamboree district-wide fund raising event scheduled for this Saturday, May 18 has been postponed due to expected heavy rain. A new date will be announced soon.

The Lagunitas 8th grade class is off to visit historical sites of the Civil Rights Movement. The Memorial for Peace and Justice, 16th Street Baptist Church, Edmund Pettus Bridge and more. Teachers and students should be proud of all the work that has gone into this project!
