Trustee Elections Scheduled for November 2026
The Lagunitas School District encourages community members who are passionate about public education to consider serving on the Board of Trustees. The next Board of Trustees election will be held as part of the November 3, 2026, General Election.
This election will include three (3) full-term seats on the five-member Board of Trustees. Trustees serve four-year terms and work collaboratively to establish district policies, adopt the annual budget, set educational priorities, and support the long-term success of the district and its students.
Who Is Eligible to Run?
To be eligible to serve as a member of the Lagunitas School District Board of Trustees, a candidate must:
Be a registered voter.
Reside within the boundaries of the Lagunitas School District.
Be otherwise qualified under California law to hold public office.
Candidate Filing Period
The official candidate filing period is:
July 13, 2026 – August 7, 2026
If an eligible incumbent does not file by the close of the nomination period, the filing deadline for that office will be extended to August 12, 2026, for candidates other than the incumbent.
How to File
Candidates must file their nomination documents through the Marin County Elections Department. Prospective candidates may begin the process by completing the online Candidate Application, after which the Elections Department will prepare the required nomination documents and provide filing instructions.
