Re-Opening Plans
We are bound by the mandate from the Governor to start school with distance-learning in our county.  Our board voted to start school with distance-learning at home with the dates below.  This was a recommendation we agreed on based on our priority of health and safety.  The first day of distance-learning for students will be August 24.  This allows our teachers time to prepare and attend training sessions.  We have slight changes in our calendar due to this short delay.  We are able to keep our holiday and end-of-year schedules as planned, but pull the mid-year staff development days and the days we added as make-up days in case of air quality or power outages later in the year.  We are still required to have 180 days of school for students and that works with our revised calendar.

In October we will evaluate whether it is safe to return to school on November 2.  This will be decided during our October school board meeting.  It's very likely that we will open with a hybrid-plan in November that has smaller than full class groups attending at alternate times.  We are working on this plan now to be ready when we are able to start returning in-person.  We are developing safety and sanitization plans to best take care of us all when back in-person.
